Genie – Terms of Use

Welcome to Genie. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you (“you,” “your,” or “User”) and Genie, a product of MYCUBE INC. (“Genie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the Genie mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
To use Genie, you must:
Be at least 18 years old, or the applicable minimum age required by law where you live
Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
Provide truthful and accurate information
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law or these Terms
The Service is currently intended for Muslim users. Genie may modify its eligibility requirements or expand the communities it serves in the future.
The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
You may not use Genie if you have been convicted of certain offenses or are subject to legal restrictions that make your use of a matchmaking or communication service inappropriate or unlawful.
Genie does not guarantee that every user has undergone a criminal background check or identity investigation.
2. Account Registration
You agree to:
Provide accurate, current, and complete information
Keep your profile information reasonably up to date
Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
Not create an account for another person without authorization
Not maintain multiple accounts where prohibited by the Service
Notify Genie if you believe your account has been compromised
You are responsible for activity occurring through your account, except to the extent that applicable law provides otherwise.
Genie may require identity, age, profile, or other verification as a condition of accessing certain features or the Service.
You may register or authenticate through third-party services such as Apple or Google. Your use of those services may also be subject to their respective terms and policies.
3. Subscriptions, Purchases, and Payments
Certain features of Genie may require payment, including subscriptions, boosts, additional messaging capabilities, or other paid features.
3.1 Subscriptions
Subscriptions may be purchased through an applicable app store or other authorized payment provider.
Subscription pricing, billing periods, included features, and availability will be presented to you before purchase.
Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions may automatically renew unless canceled in accordance with the applicable app store or payment provider's cancellation procedures.
You are responsible for reviewing the applicable subscription terms before completing a purchase.
3.2 App Store Purchases
If you purchase a subscription or other digital feature through Apple, Google, or another app store, the purchase is also subject to the applicable app store's terms and policies.
Cancellation of a subscription generally must be completed through the applicable app store or payment provider.
3.3 Refunds
Except where required by applicable law or the policies of the applicable payment provider, purchases are non-refundable.
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be waived.
3.4 Pricing and Features
Genie may change subscription prices, paid features, or the availability of particular features.
Where required, we will provide appropriate notice before material changes affecting existing paid subscriptions.
4. User Content
The Service may allow you to submit or share text, photographs, audio, voice input, profile information, messages, and other materials (“User Content”).
You are responsible for the User Content you submit and for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it.
You agree not to submit User Content that:
Is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading
Harms, threatens, abuses, or harasses another person
Contains unauthorized personal or sensitive information about another person
Infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights
Contains malware or other harmful code
Violates these Terms or applicable law
You retain ownership of your User Content.
By submitting User Content, you grant Genie a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, modify where technically necessary, display, transmit, and otherwise use that User Content as reasonably necessary to:
Operate and provide the Service
Make your content available through features you choose to use
Provide voice, communication, matchmaking, and compatibility features
Maintain safety and security
Prevent fraud and abuse
Improve and maintain the Service, where permitted by applicable law
This license continues only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above and as otherwise permitted or required by law.
You may delete User Content or your account subject to the technical, legal, and retention limitations described in our Privacy Policy.
5. AI-Generated Insights and Matching
Genie uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automated systems to provide certain features of the Service.
These systems may analyze information you provide and information generated through your interactions with Genie to produce:
Personalized insights
Relationship-related observations
Compatibility characteristics
Matching recommendations
Conversation-related insights
Safety or moderation signals
Genie may generate or infer information that you did not directly provide.
These insights and recommendations are intended to assist your matchmaking experience. They are not guarantees that another user is compatible with you, that a relationship will succeed, or that a particular recommendation is appropriate for you.
Genie's insights may change as additional information becomes available and is processed.
You remain solely responsible for evaluating another person's profile, communications, behavior, intentions, and suitability.
6. AI Limitations
AI systems are probabilistic technologies and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or inappropriate results.
You acknowledge that:
AI-generated information may contain errors
AI may misunderstand context, language, tone, humor, sarcasm, accents, or cultural references
AI-generated insights may not accurately represent you or another user
Matching recommendations may not identify every relevant factor in a relationship
AI-generated content should not be treated as fact without independent consideration
Genie does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, fairness, or reliability of AI-generated outputs
Genie's AI systems are not a substitute for your own judgment.
7. Voice Features
Genie offers voice-based features that allow you to interact with AI systems through spoken conversation.
By choosing to use voice features, you understand that your voice interactions may be:
Recorded or transmitted where necessary to provide the feature
Converted into text or other machine-readable formats
Processed by automated systems
Analyzed to provide personalized insights and matchmaking functionality
Processed for safety, security, quality, and service operation
The handling of voice and conversation information is described further in Genie's Privacy Policy.
You should not use Genie's voice features to disclose information that you do not wish to have processed through the Service.
You may stop using voice features at any time.
You agree not to record, capture, distribute, publish, or otherwise use another user's voice or private communications obtained through Genie without appropriate authorization and consent.
8. AI Safety, Moderation, and Monitoring
Genie may use automated systems and, where appropriate, human review to detect or respond to:
Harassment
Threats
Abuse
Fraud
Scams
Hate or discriminatory conduct
Sexual exploitation or other harmful behavior
Attempts to manipulate or circumvent Service safeguards
Other violations of these Terms
Genie may restrict, interrupt, suspend, or terminate interactions when we reasonably believe that a safety or policy violation has occurred or may be occurring.
We do not guarantee that automated or human moderation will identify every harmful interaction or prevent every instance of abuse.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
Impersonate another person
Misrepresent your identity, age, marital status, intentions, or other material information
Create fraudulent or deceptive profiles
Harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, exploit, or abuse another person
Engage in scams, fraud, financial exploitation, or deceptive schemes
Solicit money, financial assistance, investments, or other valuables from users
Use Genie for advertising, solicitation, or unauthorized commercial activity
Attempt to obtain passwords, account credentials, financial information, or other sensitive information from another user
Share another person's private or sensitive information without authorization
Record or distribute another user's private communications without appropriate consent
Use Genie to facilitate unlawful activity
Upload malware, viruses, or other harmful material
Use automated systems, bots, crawlers, scrapers, or similar tools to access or collect information from the Service without authorization
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from the Service except where expressly permitted by law
Circumvent security, authentication, rate limits, or other technical restrictions
Attempt to manipulate, probe, exploit, or bypass Genie's AI safety or matching systems
Use the Service to determine or infer sensitive characteristics about another user outside of the features intentionally provided by Genie
Use information obtained through Genie to discriminate against, threaten, exploit, or harm another person
Use another person's photographs, identity, voice, or personal information without appropriate authorization
Use the Service in violation of applicable law
Genie may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action.
10. Interactions With Other Users
Genie facilitates introductions and communications between users but does not control the behavior of individual users.
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, whether online or offline.
Genie does not guarantee that:
A user is who they claim to be
A user's profile or statements are accurate
A user has disclosed all relevant information
A user has appropriate intentions
A user is safe to meet
A user is legally permitted to engage in a relationship or communication
A suggested match will be compatible with you
An interaction will lead to a successful relationship or marriage
You should use caution when communicating with or meeting someone you encountered through Genie.
Do not send money, financial information, passwords, authentication codes, or other sensitive information to another user.
If you choose to meet another user offline, consider meeting in a public place, informing someone you trust about your plans, arranging your own transportation, and taking other reasonable safety precautions.
11. Reporting, Blocking, and Safety Controls
Depending on the features available in your version of the Service, you may be able to:
Block another user
Mute or end an interaction
Report another user or content
Restrict communications
Stop using a particular feature
Genie may investigate reports and take action consistent with these Terms and our safety policies.
We encourage you to disengage from interactions that make you uncomfortable or feel unsafe.
If you believe there is an immediate threat to your safety, contact appropriate emergency services or local authorities.
12. Fairness and Responsible Use
Genie is designed to provide matchmaking and compatibility functionality based on information users provide and information generated through use of the Service.
We seek to operate the Service responsibly and to avoid intentionally discriminating against users based on characteristics that should not be used for a particular feature.
However, automated systems may produce errors or unexpected outcomes.
Genie does not guarantee that its AI systems or matchmaking recommendations will always be free from bias or error.
You agree not to intentionally manipulate information provided to Genie for the purpose of obtaining misleading, fraudulent, or unsafe recommendations.
13. No Professional Advice
Genie does not provide medical, mental-health, psychological, legal, financial, or professional religious advice.
Genie's AI-generated insights and compatibility recommendations are not clinical diagnoses, psychological evaluations, therapeutic assessments, or professional counseling.
They are provided to support your use of the Service and should not be treated as a substitute for professional advice.
14. Intellectual Property and Proprietary Technology
The Service and its underlying technology are owned by or licensed to Genie and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except for User Content, Genie owns or controls all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including, as applicable:
Software
Source and object code
User interfaces
Designs
Branding
Logos
Text and graphics
AI systems and implementations
Models and model configurations
Matching technology
Compatibility methodologies
Algorithms
Data structures
Product architecture
Trade secrets
Know-how
Other proprietary technology
Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of or rights to Genie's intellectual property except for the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license, lease, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works from the Service or its proprietary technology except where expressly permitted by law or by Genie in writing.
You may not attempt to discover, reconstruct, extract, reproduce, or disclose Genie's proprietary matching methodologies, algorithms, model configurations, prompts, scoring methods, or other non-public technology.
15. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with or depend on third-party services, including app stores, authentication providers, payment processors, cloud infrastructure, communications providers, AI technology providers, analytics providers, and security services.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to their separate terms and privacy policies.
Genie is not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of third-party service providers except as required by applicable law.
16. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by Genie's Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy describes how Genie collects, uses, processes, derives, shares, and retains personal information, including information associated with voice interactions, profiles, location, verification, AI-powered features, and matchmaking.
You should review the Privacy Policy carefully before using the Service.
17. Availability and Changes to the Service
Genie may modify, update, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
Features may vary by:
Device
Operating system
Geographic location
User eligibility
Subscription status
Legal or regulatory requirements
Technical availability
We may perform maintenance, updates, testing, or other changes that temporarily affect availability.
We will provide notice of material changes where reasonably practical and where required by applicable law.
18. Account Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
Genie may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access to particular features if we reasonably believe that you:
Violated these Terms
Violated applicable law
Provided materially false or misleading information
Engaged in fraud, abuse, harassment, or unsafe conduct
Attempted to circumvent Service safeguards
Created a risk to other users, Genie, or third parties
Misused the Service
Engaged in conduct that could materially harm the Service or its community
We may also take action where necessary to comply with legal obligations or protect users and the Service.
Where appropriate, Genie may provide notice or an opportunity to appeal an enforcement decision, subject to safety, legal, and operational considerations.
Termination may result in loss of access to your account, profile, communications, paid features, and other content.
Termination does not eliminate obligations that by their nature should survive termination.
19. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.
Genie disclaims warranties, express or implied, including warranties concerning:
Availability
Reliability
Accuracy
Completeness
Fitness for a particular purpose
Non-infringement
Security
Uninterrupted operation
Compatibility or matchmaking outcomes
Genie does not warrant that:
The Service will always be available
The Service will be error-free
AI-generated insights will always be accurate
Profiles or user-provided information will always be accurate
Matches will be suitable
You will meet a compatible person
You will enter into a relationship
A relationship resulting from use of the Service will succeed
The Service will prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, or other harmful conduct
You are responsible for your own decisions and interactions.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Genie and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, opportunities, or relationships arising from or related to
your use of the Service.
This includes, to the extent permitted by law, claims arising from:
Interactions with other users
User-generated content
Matchmaking recommendations
AI-generated insights
Inaccurate or incomplete information
Service interruptions
Unauthorized access
Conduct occurring outside the Service
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Genie's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:
The amount you paid to Genie for the Service during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or $100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.
21. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Genie, MYCUBE INC., and their affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to:
Your use of the Service
Your User Content
Your interactions with other users
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of applicable law
Your infringement or violation of another person's rights
Your misuse of the Service
