Genie Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 09/01/2026

Genie (“Genie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an AI-powered matchmaking and communication service through our mobile applications, websites, and related features (collectively, the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, how we process information generated through your interactions with Genie, when we share information with third parties, and the choices and rights available to you.

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires your consent for a particular processing activity, we will obtain consent as required.

1. Information We Collect

When you use these features, we may process:

  • Audio or voice input

  • Transcripts or textual representations of conversations

  • Conversation content and related metadata

  • Information contained in or derived from those conversations

Conversation information may be processed to provide the voice experience, generate personalized insights, support matchmaking and compatibility features, maintain safety, and improve the Service where permitted by applicable law.

The information generated through your conversations may also contribute to personalized information associated with your account.

1.3 Inferred and Derived Information

Genie may use automated systems to analyze information you provide and information generated through your interactions with the Service.

1.5 Location Information

With your permission, Genie may collect location information to provide location-related and matchmaking features.

Depending on your device and settings, this may include precise location information.

You can control location permissions through your device settings. Disabling location access may limit certain features of the Service.

1.6 Profile Verification and Face Data

Genie may offer identity or profile verification features designed to reduce impersonation, fake accounts, and misleading profiles.

Where you use a verification feature, we may process:

  • A selfie or verification image submitted by you

  • Profile photographs associated with your account

  • Information necessary to determine whether the submitted image is consistent with the photographs associated with your account

  • The resulting verification status or related metadata

Face-related information is used for verification and security purposes and is not used by Genie for advertising, surveillance, or identifying you across unrelated accounts, public images, or third-party services.

Genie does not sell face-related information.

Where face-comparison processing occurs on your device, the relevant processing may occur locally rather than being transmitted to Genie. Where a third-party service is used for verification or related processing, that service may process information on our behalf subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

We retain face-related information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the verification and security purposes for which it was collected, subject to applicable legal requirements.

1.7 Payments and Purchases

If you purchase subscriptions, boosts, extra messages, or other paid features, payment transactions may be processed through the applicable app store, payment processor, or other payment service provider.

Genie generally does not receive or store your complete payment-card number when payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider.

We may receive information such as transaction status, purchase type, subscription status, and other information necessary to provide paid features and manage your account.

Automated processing may be supplemented by human review where appropriate, including for safety, fraud prevention, customer support, legal compliance, or other operational purposes.

Genie does not intend to use automated processing to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you without appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
