Genie Safety Tips
Your safety matters. Genie is designed to help you connect with others—but staying safe is a shared responsibility. These guidelines will help you protect yourself while using the app.
1. Protect Your Personal Information
Keep sensitive details private until you’ve built real trust.
Avoid sharing your home address, workplace, financial information, or daily routines
Be mindful of photos that may reveal your location
Never share passwords, verification codes, or account access
2. Stay on Genie Until You’re Ready
Use Genie’s chat and voice features while getting to know someone.
Conversations on Genie may be monitored for safety signals
Moving off-platform too quickly reduces your protection
Be cautious if someone pressures you to switch apps early
3. Watch for Warning Signs
Some behaviors are strong indicators of risk. Be cautious if someone:
Asks for money, investments, or financial help (including emergencies or crypto)
Avoids video or voice interaction while making big claims
Pressures you to move fast or escalate the relationship
Shares inconsistent, vague, or suspicious information
4. Meet Safely in Person
Take simple steps to stay in control when meeting.
Meet in a public, well-lit place
Tell a friend or family member your plans
Arrange your own transportation
Leave if you feel uncomfortable—no explanation needed
5. Report and Block
You’re always in control of your experience.
Report users who ask for money, behave abusively, or seem fake
Block users at any time—no justification required
Genie reviews reports and may take action, including removing accounts
6. Trust Your Instincts
If something feels off, it probably is.
Don’t ignore discomfort or pressure
Take your time—there’s no need to rush
Your safety and well-being always come first
