Instead of relying primarily on photos, swipes, and basic profile information, Genie uses conversational experiences, information you provide, and AI-powered analysis to develop a richer understanding of relationship-relevant characteristics and preferences.
Genie is designed for people looking for meaningful, long-term relationships and marriage—not simply more matches or more time spent swiping.
Who is Genie for?
Genie is designed for single Muslims who are serious about finding a meaningful long-term relationship or marriage and want to explore compatibility beyond traditional dating-app profiles.
Is Genie only for Muslims?
Yes. During Phase 1, Genie is 100% Muslim-only.
We may expand Genie to additional faiths or communities in the future, but the current Genie experience is exclusively for Muslims.
What makes Genie different from other matchmaking apps?
Genie combines:
Voice-first interaction — getting to know you through conversation rather than relying primarily on photos and swipes.
AI-powered understanding — analyzing information you choose to share to identify relationship-relevant insights.

How do I create a Genie profile?
You begin by providing basic information and completing Genie’s onboarding experience.
As you use Genie, additional information you choose to share may help develop a more informed understanding of your preferences, characteristics, and relationship tendencies.
How does Genie determine my matches?
Genie considers multiple types of information, which may include:
Information in your profile
Your stated preferences
Relationship preferences and goals
Values and priorities
Personality-related characteristics

Other relationship-relevant insights generated through your interactions with Genie
Genie is designed to consider multiple aspects of compatibility rather than relying on a single characteristic.

Does Genie give me a compatibility score?
Genie may provide compatibility insights and relationship-relevant comparisons rather than reducing a relationship to a single number.

They are not predictions or guarantees of relationship success.
Will my Genie profile change over time?
Yes.
As you provide additional information and interact with Genie, your profile and relationship-relevant insights may become more informed.
This means Genie is designed to develop a deeper understanding of you over time rather than treating your initial profile as a complete picture.
Can Genie tell me whether someone is my soulmate?
No.
Genie can identify patterns and areas of potential compatibility, but no AI system can determine with certainty whether two people will have a successful relationship or marriage.
Ultimately, that decision belongs to you.

How does a Genie Voice AI session work?
A Voice AI session is designed to feel like a conversation rather than a traditional questionnaire.

Does Genie diagnose my personality or mental health?
No.
Genie is not a medical, mental-health, or clinical diagnostic service.
Genie uses psychology-informed approaches to help understand relationship-relevant characteristics and compatibility. Its insights should not be considered a professional psychological evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment.
How accurate are Genie’s AI insights?
AI systems can make mistakes.
Voice transcription, interpretation, and AI-generated insights may sometimes be incomplete or inaccurate because of factors such as language, accent, background noise, ambiguity, context, or limitations of AI technology.
Genie’s insights are intended to provide useful perspectives—not certainty.
Does Genie guarantee compatibility?
No.
Genie can help identify areas of potential compatibility, alignment, difference, and conversation opportunities.
No matchmaking system can guarantee relationship success, marriage, or long-term compatibility.
4. AI & Your Privacy
Is my personal information shared with AI companies?
Genie is designed with privacy in mind.
Your Genie profile, private conversations, and other personal information remain under Genie’s control and are not provided to AI providers for the purpose of training their general-purpose AI models.
Where third-party technology providers support Genie’s AI capabilities, they are used to provide specific services to Genie. They do not receive ownership of your Genie profile, conversations, or personal information simply because their technology is used to power a Genie feature.
Genie does not sell your personal information or private conversations to AI companies or advertisers.

Can AI providers use my conversations to train their models?
No.
Genie does not provide your private conversations or personal information to AI providers for the purpose of training their general-purpose AI models.
Our use of third-party AI technology is intended to provide functionality within Genie. Genie retains control over the information generated and collected through your use of the platform, subject to our
Privacy Policy, applicable agreements, and applicable law.
Does Genie give AI companies access to my private profile?
Genie does not give AI providers independent access to your Genie account or private profile.
Where a third-party technology provider is used to perform a specific function, information may be processed on Genie’s behalf as necessary to provide that function. Such processing does not give the provider ownership of your Genie account or authorize it to independently use your information for its own purposes.
Does Genie sell my data?
No.
Genie does not sell your personal information or private conversations to advertisers or AI companies.
Information may be processed by technology and service providers that help Genie operate features such as hosting, voice technology, AI functionality, communications, security, analytics, payments, and other platform services, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Where is my Genie data stored?
Genie stores information necessary to operate your account and provide Genie’s services within
Genie-controlled systems and infrastructure.
Third-party service providers may process certain information on Genie’s behalf when necessary to
provide specific services. These providers do not receive ownership of your Genie account or personal data merely because they provide technology or infrastructure to Genie.
What happens to my voice data?
Depending on the feature and how you use it, voice interactions may be recorded, processed, transcribed, and analyzed.

5. AI, Humans & Safety
Is a human listening to my conversations?
Genie uses automated systems to process and analyze information as described in our Privacy Policy.
In limited circumstances, authorized personnel or service providers may review information when necessary for purposes such as safety, moderation, fraud prevention, customer support, security, or legal compliance.
This does not mean that every conversation is reviewed by a person.
Does Genie use AI for safety?
Yes.
AI and automated systems may be used to help identify potential safety, abuse, fraud, or policy-related issues.
Genie may also use other technical and operational measures, including human review where appropriate.
No automated safety system can identify every potential problem, so users should always exercise their own judgment.
Can I report or block someone?
Yes.
If another member makes you uncomfortable, behaves inappropriately, violates Genie’s rules, or creates a safety concern, you can use Genie’s available reporting and blocking controls.
Reports may be investigated and may result in actions including content removal, feature restrictions, suspension, or account termination.
Can Genie remove users?
Yes.
Genie may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate its Terms of Service, Safety Policy, or other applicable rules.
This can include behavior involving harassment, fraud, impersonation, exploitation, threats, abuse, inappropriate conduct, or other serious violations.
6. Voice AI Safety
What should I avoid sharing during a Voice AI session?
You should never share information with Genie or another member that you would not want exposed or misused.
This can include:
Passwords
Financial account information
Credit or debit card information
Government identification numbers
Security codes
Highly sensitive personal information
Your exact home address
Information that could put you or another person at risk
Genie will not ask you to provide passwords, payment credentials, or other authentication secrets through a Voice AI conversation.
Can I record another person's voice?
You should not record, reproduce, distribute, or otherwise misuse another person's private voice communication without appropriate permission or where otherwise prohibited by law.
Recording laws vary by location.
Can I manipulate or jailbreak Genie?
Attempts to circumvent Genie’s technical, safety, or usage restrictions are prohibited.
Users may not use Genie’s AI capabilities to facilitate fraud, harassment, abuse, exploitation, illegal activity, or other harmful behavior.
7. Payments & Membership
Is Genie free?
Genie offers a free experience as well as paid membership options.
Free members can create a profile, discover other members, and use the features included in the free Genie experience.
Genie’s AI-powered Voice experience and associated AI-driven compatibility insights are available through eligible paid membership plans.
The features included with each membership are displayed within the Genie app.
What do paid memberships provide?
Paid membership plans may provide access to features such as:
Voice AI experiences
AI-powered compatibility insights
Additional matchmaking functionality
Enhanced discovery or visibility features
Other premium features
The features and pricing associated with each plan are displayed in the app and may change over time.
Does my membership automatically renew?
Unless otherwise stated during purchase, subscriptions generally renew automatically according to the terms displayed at the time of purchase.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through the applicable app-store or payment settings.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled according to the applicable app-store or payment-provider policies and the terms presented when you make your purchase.
8. Privacy & Data
What information does Genie collect?
Depending on how you use Genie, we may collect information such as:

How old do I have to be to use Genie?
Genie is intended for adults and users must be at least 18 years old to use the service.
Genie does not permit minors to use the platform.
Is Genie exclusively for Muslims?
Yes.
During Phase 1, Genie is exclusively for Muslims. This may change in the future as Genie expands, but the current platform is Muslim-only.
What is Genie doing to promote a safe community?
Genie uses a combination of technology, safety controls, reporting mechanisms, verification features, moderation, and enforcement measures to promote a safer community.
However, no verification, AI system, or moderation process can guarantee that every member is honest, safe, or compatible.
Users should always exercise reasonable judgment.
10. Meeting Someone on Genie
Should I meet someone I matched with?
That decision is yours.
If you choose to meet someone, take reasonable precautions:
Meet in a public, populated location.
Tell someone you trust where you are going.
Consider sharing your location with someone you trust.
